Magnumin Facebook-sivulla kerrottiin, että Tony Clarkinilla on pahoja ongelmia pään ja niskan alueella selkärangasta johtuvien vaivojen takia. Magnumin ensi vuoden keikat on jouduttu perumaan.
 
"I have developed a rare spinal condition. Its not life-limiting, but it can be degenerative in some people, and sadly its not curable. There are treatments that may help but we dont know how good theyll be.
 
With the nature of touring and the weight of electric guitars this means theres no way I would be able to play the scheduled shows in the spring. We've taken the decision to cancel the tour, rather than mess anyone around trying to postpone in the hope things might get better in the short term. Bob didnt feel it would be right doing it with a dep at this time.
 
This is not gonna be the end of Magnum, but the future might have to be a bit different, so please bear with us while we try and figure out what I can and cant do moving forward."

Joo meinasin postata saman jutun. Toivottavasti saisi itsensä keikkakuntoon joskus tulevaisuudessa... Muuten taitaa Magnum jäädä näkemättä täälläkin päin.

Äijät alkaa kuitenkin olla lähempänä 80v, eli voi olla että keikat on tehty. Todella harmillista että missasin edellisen (ainoan?) Suomen keikan

Voi olla noinkin mutta mistä tietää jos ottavatkin mallia Stonesista eivätkä lopeta ennen kuin kuolo korjaa...

"Since we lost Tony, we lost our guiding light, the magnum force behind the band, our songwriter, our producer, our guitar player. He was everything to the band. He was everything to me. Tuosta varmaan voisi päätellä että Magnumin tarina päättyy mutta Catley jatkaisi "tavalla tai toisella" soolouraansa... Onhan se ymmärrettävää kun pääasiallinen biisintekijä ja Catleyn paras kaveri 50 vuoden ajalta kuolee niin olisi vaikeaa löytää vastaavan tasoista/tyylistä kitaristia jatkamaan bändissä kun Catleykin on jo ikämiehiä ja Magnumin ura muutenkin ehtoopuolella.

Earlier today, Catley, along with MAGNUM keyboardist Rick Benton and drummer Lee Morris, shared a video message in which the MAGNUM vocalist said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "All right. Hello, everybody. Bob here, with Lee and Rick. I've got something to tell you. It's good stuff.
 
"I've been recently doing shows with the German rock/metal opera project AVANTASIA, as you probably know, all through the summer, doing 15 festivals all around Europe. Thank you, Tobias Sammet, AVANTASIA leader, and the band. Brilliant and great crowds and everything. And I'm doing all these gigs and I'm going, 'Oh.' This gives me fire back to sing Tony's songs again. I thought I'd lost that chance forever, but now's now. And I want you to know that we're doing it again. We're gonna get out there. We're gonna put a show together. We wanna do a tribute to Tony and the respect for all those songs me and him did over 50 years, actually. I can't believe it."

MAGNUM Announces Final Live Album With Founding Guitarist TONY CLARKIN
 
British rock icons MAGNUM have announced the release of the band's final live album with founder Tony Clarkin. Recorded December 10, 2022, "Live At KK's Steel Mill" was the memorable night when they played the final show of their European tour at KK's Steel Mill in Wolverhampton and, as they had done on all previous nights, wowed their fans from the first to the last note.
 
The concert was recorded by state-of-the-art audio equipment, which later turned out to be a real blessing because it was as we now know the last official live recording starring Tony Clarkin. The guitarist and main songwriter died unexpectedly on January 7, 2024, just a few days before the release of MAGNUM's latest studio album, "Here Comes The Rain".
