Terry Pantheras: Tää on kyllä niin kakspiippunen homma: toisaalta mun lemppari Faith No More levyt fiilikseltään on Real Thing ja Angel Dust, mutta Trey Spruancen kitarointi Kingillä on kyllä niin pirun hienoa... Sikäli mikäli Trey on reunionissa mitenkään mukana.
 
Mutta aika erikoinen homma kerta kaikkiaan koko reunion.

Lienee bändillä hintaa. Ilosaari myynee taas loppuun ilman tätäkin kiinnitystä. Enkä usko Merimaankaan satsaavan näinä aikoina, jotta tulisivat Ruissiin tahi Ankkaan. Joten Seinäjoen suuntaan kallistun minäkin veikkauksissani. RMJ tosin hymyilyttäisi kovin, nyt Sedu hereillä!!

Veikkaisin muuten että kyseessä on juuri tämä kiertue. Faith No Moreahan on pyydetty mukaan Sonisphereen, ja tuo "festarikeikkoja Euroopassa" voisi ihan hyvin tarkoittaa Sonispherea. Lukeehan tapahtuman sivuillakin että "very special guests to be announced". Olisivatko Poriin kenties tulossa sitten?
 
Niin ja mitä noita lehtiartikkeleita olen lukenut, niin kokoonpano tulisi olemaan se jolla äänitettiin Album Of The Year, eli Mike Patton-Jon Hudson-Billy Gould-Roddy Bottum-Mike Bordin.

FNM Ilosaaressa olisi jo liian täydellistä. Pessimisti minussa veikkaa, että bändi ei päädy Suomen rajojen sisäpuolelle kesällä, mutta toivoa on silti.

Kitaristikysymys on minulle täysin epäolennainen. Oikeastaan kitaristi on minulle FNM:n epäolennaisin jäsen.

Niin, kaveri on kaiketi rikkaan perheen vesa, ei ole tehnyt eläissään päivääkään oikeita töitä yms. Patton varoitteli jo etukäteen muita FNM-jäseniä aikoinaan KFAD...FFAL:n tekemisen aikoihin, ettei Treystä ole siihen kiertue- ja promootiorääkkiin, mitä FNM:n kaltaiselta bändiltä edellytetään.
 
Ja kitaran varressa voi olla vaikka Tuomas Wäinölä, ei tämä bändi siihen kaadu.

Ai joo. Spruance itse kumosi nuo perintöhuhut täysin perättöminä. Kuten aika tyypillistä näiden vesselien kesken, on aika vaikea ottaa selvää mikä on totta ja mikä puppua.

No faktaa nyt on ainakin se, että Spruance ei yhtäkään keikkaa FNM:n kanssa koskaan soittanut.

5. I know this is a tired old topic, but my readers would kill me if I didn't ask about it why have you and Mike Patton not spoken in years? Did your friendship die out because of Mr. Bungle or Faith No More, or did you just go separate ways, or something else entirely?
 
As time wears on you find out who your friends are, and who they aren't. Mike and I always had the best working relationship imaginable. Really, very very good and fruitful. There are other things in life we see differently. I don't think those things are irreconcilable at all. But when you get used to having things your own way, and certain people around you resist the "natural order" of becoming subordinate to you, you may start nursing resentments. Even lashing out at them and calling them egomaniacs etc. for not assuming the position. I think in my case it was too painful for Patton to realize that where there are no subordinates there is no insubordination. Like most of us, Mike tends to begin the process of deciding whether or not he can afford to discard a person's point of view altogether, rather than facing certain difficult facts of life. So to answer your question, there was never any big mess between he and I specifically. The general dysfunction coming from being expected to silently endure more and more of this emerging top-down/top-dog order-barking thing he'd taken to just ended up getting really tiresome for everyone involved. In a band, strong personalities need to know where to draw the line on this kind of stuff. Anyway, since it wasn't going to happen, I was the idiot who started to draw that line. I admit I had more emotional involvement in the process than would be neccesary for a non-robot, having poured comparatively ridiculously copious doses of my blood into the project. Patton's subsequent resentment towards me is a fairly predictable outcome. You don't stand up to him and stay off the shit-list. A bummer, yeah, but its essentially a self-protecting reflex action - something I don't really feel a need to hold against him too much. He has his way. It won't change. And after all why should it? This method works well for him overall -- who am I to question it? I dare say it's even part of his charm. (we are a nation of pathological narcissists after all!). Whatever. Really, I feel fondly about the time we spent making music together, and feel we did some great things. And, while I am diametrically opposed to it on a human level, over time I do appreciate the clarity of his cut and dry approach: how black and white it makes things. You're either in the club, or out of the club. Unfortunately, I have to say I do prefer life as an excommunicate from that kind of 'friendship'. I know he prefers it that way too. I'm sure both of us would agree it was a good run, though.

Komppaan. Olen vieläkin syvästi ahdistunut kun jätin viime kesänä välistä. Teltta oli niin perkeleen täynnä, eikä Mike Patton ollut muutenkaan kamalan tuttu mies. Paria viikkoa myöhemmin aloin kuunnella Faith no morea, Mr. Bunglea ja nyttemmin myös Fantomasia. Joten joo. Jos rokkiin tulisi niin varmaan purkautuisin housuihini.

Missään ei vieläkään ole asiasta luotettavaa uutista, pelkkää huhumyllylää.

FAITH NO MORE bassist Bill Gould has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
 
"FAITH NO MORE has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile.
 
"Throughout our 17 years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe. Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we've experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.
 
"What's changed is that this year, for the first time, we've all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we've discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right. Voi hemmetti mieletöntä. Sitä ajatteli että PATTONin sanaan voi luottaa eikä FNMää enää nähdä mutta onko niin että Pattonkin on vain ihminen, eikö se olekaan Jumala?
