Todella, todella monta. Ne liitännät kuitenkaan harvemmin on sitten siinä tietokoneen sisällä työnnettävässä osassa.
 
No joo...tottahan tuo. Mutta jos korttiin kuuluu olennaisena joku ulkoinen yksikkö, jota ilman sitä ei voi käyttää, niin en enää kutsuisi sitä sisäiseksi kortiksi. Mutta siinä taas mennään saivartelun puolelle. Onhan todella omassa EMUssanikin sekä ulkoinen että sisäinen yksikkö. Eli pyörrän puheeni.

Se on kato se liitäntä. USB ja FW on ulkoisia ja PCI ja PCIe on sisäisiä.

Ei Creativea kannata hylätä! EMU on yksi parhaista äänikorttimerkeistä muusikolle. SoundBlaster on lähinnä pelaajille.
 
E-MU:sta ei ole kokemuksia, mutta toivottavasti siellä on joku toinen tiimi suunnittelemassa ajureita ja niiden kontrollipaneeleita, sillä Soundblaster-puolella ajurit ovat vähintäänkin kuppaisia ja niiden kontrollipaneelit ovat huonoimpia koskaan näkemiäni.

"EMU systems was dissolved about a year and a half ago (maybe 2 years now....). All of the engineers who were working on the various projects were either laid off or moved into Creative's General development. This includes the driver development group..... of course the *oh so wonderful* software installation team based in Singapore are still around (I'm not bitter or a former driver developer....I was strictly web.... but that group needs help) but the very talented (and actually profitable) EMU group is gone :smileysad:.....
 
I started out with Creative as a Tech Support agent for sound and modems..... then I became an EMU TS Agent..... then the US Forum Moderator and eventually a Web Developer (and then I left 3 years ago) and of all of the many...many groups I worked with the EMU team was the most talented and fun (that is of the groups I worked with...not for.... of the groups I worked for I can't pick.... Although I still work with a few of the old Creative US Web Devs for another company).
 
The short answer would be, I wouldn't expect to see much in the way of updates to the EMU DAS cards even if they were absolutely awesome products (most problems encountered with them were the result of the odd way the cards interfaced with the OS as well as the general problem creative has.... Audio Hardware Development is/was(?) primarily based in California but Software was developed for the most part in Singapore..... what was it people always said?....that Creative's Hardware was awesome but the Software was.....) because the people whose babies these were are generally not around anymore or are on other things. I could be 100% wrong on this.... they might have a team developing for this... and I have no inside sources anymore.

LATE EDIT: I did notice they are still developing Emulator X...X3 is out...and they have some of those USB Products they are making *sigh* (BTW USB is an awesome thing but so many of those USB products are completely emulated in software with the hardware itself just holding some DACs and the other bits required for the physical inputs/outputs...meaning no hardware effects...meaning lower performance)...Emu X is an awesome awesome software sampler.... I just wanted to see more *quality* (aka: PCI/PCI Express) hardware audio systems from them. "

Sen verran pitää kyllä korjata, että vanhat SBLive-kortit sekä ensimmäiset Audacity-kortit toimivat varsin mukavasti kx-ajureilla. Näihin oli helppoa lisätä s/pdif ja i2s liitäntöjä jos oli vähänkään pienelektroniikan tuntemusta.
 
Myös ihan standardilla sblivellä on äänitetty ihan hyvää kamaa. Esimerkkejä löytyy jos niitä pyydetään.

Itselläni on EMU 1820. Sonarin forumilla EMU 0404, 1212 ja 1616 kuuluvat suositelluimpien joukkoon.

Joo, E-Mu:n tilanne on harmillinen (olen seurannut sitä production forums:n kautta), kun on vielä pari noita kortteja (1212m, 1616 pcmcia) ja kiippari sekä emulator x2 omistuksessa. Mitä noihin ajureihin tulee, niin tällä hetkellä taitavat toimia (ainakin xp:ssä) moitteetta. Itse asio ajurihan on hyvin samanlainen kuin audigyssä, mutta kontrollerisofta on samaa tasoa kuin rme:n total mix (ellei parempi) ja kortissa on oma prossu mikserin/effuje pyöritykseen. Harmi, että effut eivät oikein tahdo toimia kunnolla cubasessa vst:inä (ei suuri menetys minulle, ei puhuta nyt kuitenkaan mistään uad kamasta).
 
Kassellaan mitä tapahtuu E-mun kanssa pci-e rintamalla, mutta kun Creativen taloudellinen tilanne on niin kuralla kuin se on, en ole kovinkaan optimistinen.

Firstly , we'd like to tell you that E-MU is still very much alive and kicking with all of our audio interface and keyboard SKUs still shipping worldwide. More recently, we released new E-MU drivers for the PCI and USB products bringing our entire lineup to Vista compatibility.
 
For the PCI products, the new features in the update package include support for all flavors of Windows (XP and Vista, 32 and 64-bit) along with support for multi-channel wave, mono strips, new DSP effects, and much more.
 
And if you are wondering about EmulatorX 3, note that it has been announced and is on its way to shipping. Final date still tbd. Oh, and by the way, we recently posted a free version of ProteusVX for our registered users. Come and get it!
 
Lastly we also wanted to let you know that new products are in development, but we can't disclose what they are at this time, except that we've been trying to listen to our customer base and focus on our core values: great quality audio performance and features at a fair price. As you can imagine and appreciate, optimizing this mix always takes time (because it is a really hard problem).
 
Bottom line, development is still taking place, but in a different form than before. Just be reassured that whatever we release, we will always focus on the quality we deliver to you, our faithful E-MU customers.

Siis jotain uuttakin olisi tulossa ... luultavasti PCIe (ja/tai ExpresCard (joidenkin kommenttien mukaan CardBus/PCMCIA Type II mallin tuotannosta on luovuttu jo)) mallit mutta toivottavasti FW:tä myös !!

Pitää paikkansa. Noita PCMCIA-kortteja ei ole ainakaan enää emun sivuilla. Henk.koht express card vois olla aika kova, etenkin jos se olisi yhteensopiva nykysen microdockin kanssa (en usko, ei oo kovin hyvää bisnestä, vaikkakin rme:n multiface taitaa sopia tohon uuteen express cardiin?) ja mukaan sais vaikka vähän paremmat / paremmin vst:nä toimivat effut.

Jos ihan välttämättä haluaa käyttää perusäänikortin kanssa pikkumixeriä, niin sopii unohtaa nuo behringerit, altot, phonicit ja muut lelut. Ainoa oikeasti äänityskäytössä toimiva valinta esim. signaalin reitityksen kannalta on Soundcraft Compact 4. Hinnassakaan ei ole isoa heittoa.
 
PCI-E-kortista taas en osaa mitään sanoa, mutta jos joku päivä konettani saan päivitettyä, niin PCI-väylä pitää emolta edelleen löytyä jotta ei tarvitsisi tuota EMU 1212m:ää lähteä vaihtamaan.
