Juu itsekin diggailen kovasti Portalista. Levyn nappasin Cynicalspherestä kun se siellä aikoinaan oli jaossa. Olihan tuossa Focuksen remasterissa 3 Portal-rallia ja entistä paremmalta kuulosti remiksauksen jälkeen. Toivottavasti saavat joskus julkaistua koko levyn, niin kuin on ollut vähän puhetta. En nyt lähtisi Focukseen vertaamaan kun on aika erityylistä musiikkia, mutta loistavaa kuitenkin.

Kaksi demorallia levinnyt, Integral Birth & Adam's Murmur. Upeaa matskua. Enemmän vaan tulee Aeon Spoke mieleen kuin vanha kunnon Cynic, mutta ei siinä mitään.

Everyone can expect something stylistically the same as Focus but more upbeat, energetic and most important of all, pretty god damn brutal! I mean we're gonna mix in Bullacake by Niche Dexplitic into one of our songs but will be using real scary riffs 'nd solos and more savage growling as well as Paul's robotic vocals and keyboarding. Basically all the shit which was there on "Focus" is all gonna be there with this new one two. But with some new things bundled in and a bit more brutal. It's gonna be good."
 
Lupaa hyvää, varsinkin "real scary riffs", joita noissa julkitulleissa ralleissa tosin ei ole.

Reinert and I have spent the past two weeks locked up in a studio in Glendale, California laying down drums and guitars for the new record. It's been a beautifully intense and focused state of nowness. Sean spent the first week cutting drums, and as of last week, I've recorded a symphony of guitar parts that were demo'd over the past year. These vibrant little song embryos have been through 4 stages of pre-production and now their nervous systems are manifesting along with their hearts and minds in their fifth and final stage of conception. Never imagined it would come together so unruffled (unlike 'Focus'), but in reflection I realize that Reinert and I have been living inside the millions of details of this record - every day for over 9 months - with no days off - and no desire for one! Sean Malone arrives next week to lay down bass and stick, then the following week Tymon arrives for some growls and more guitars. I feel more alive and certain than ever that we have captured the magic we've been seeking in these recordings. We'll just keep surrendering to the process and letting it all unfold as it should. Thankfully Warren our mixer/engineer is right on the page and understands exactly where we're at. Our collective energies are pulsating like one massive ball of fire! I'm grateful and thankful that we've received so much love and support from you, the supporters of Cynic. There's a piece of each of you in these little alien babies and they won't really start breathing until you hear them. We all get to participate in their life.

..well, we still have mastering to do, which is a critical last step, but everything is where it needs to be. We're really excited to share this new collection of songs with you. It's an honest record, and a really enjoyable listening experience. Takes you on a journey into the center of your heart and mind. Many moods and colors to occupy the sonic landscapes. Jotenkin yllätyin poppaavuudesta ja simppeliydestä.

Tulevan levyn demoja juu. Hieman on keventynyt linja ainakin näiden kolmen rallin perusteella ja mikäpä se siinä. Toivottavasti silti tulee vähän äkäisempääkin kamaa mukaan.

Sydän on nyt hakannut melko kahtasataa viimeiset minuutit. Ei millään pahalla Opethia kohtaan vaikka ovatkin ehkä tämän hetken paras metallibändi, mut kyl Cynicia odotan ihan tolkuttomasti enemmän.

^ Muuten sama, mutta ei ole ehkä koskaan ollut näin levollinen olo kun tilasin liput ja laitoin Focuksen soimaan. :D

Snadisti väristi selkämyksessä itselläkin kun tuota uutista luin. Ei uskonut muutama vuosi takaperin että näkee Cynicin, saati että näkee sen kolmesti.

Vielä se Pestilence ja Atheist Suomeen niin pääsee menettämään jazz-death neitsyyden lopullisesti!

Meinas kyllä kakka valahtaa housuun kun uutisen luin. Jotain huhua olin kyllä kuullut että Opeth saattaisi ottaa Cynicin mukaan rundille, mutta eihän sitä uskaltanut edes kuvitella että Suomeen tulisivat. Aiemmin Opethin keikkalippun korkeaa hintaa kauhistelleena se tuntuikin yhtäkkiä lähes naurettavan huokealta :D
 
Soittavat kuulemma lokakuussa Hollannin Progpowerissa kokonaan uuden levyn.. Ovat tosin pääesiintyjiä siellä ja aikaa riittää. Noh, kunhan Veil Of Mayan tai Uroboric Formsin kuulee livenä niin voi olla tyytyväinen elämään.
