Tässä pari viitettä jutusta:

"Extreme's guitarist Nuno Bettencourt flatly refused the reunion offer."

Former Extreme drummer Paul Geary, who now manages Godsmack, Fuel, Cold and other bands from his Medford office, explained why.

"Nuno has a new band called Population One,'' Geary said, ``and felt that he wanted a fresh start. He didn't want to be known as the guy from Extreme. I respect his opinion, but I would have liked (the onstage reunion) to happen anyway."

Despite no Nuno, the Extreme episode will air.

"I was pleasantly surprised they decided to do the show with us anyway," Geary says. "But when VH1 asks people if they want to participate, you're not supposed to know what their decision will be. So we're going to be one of the bands they just couldn't pull it off with."

Tässä Nunon managerin mietteet:

I'm glad to hear that many of you think that the VH-1 show is cheesy.

As Nuno's manager, I discussed, with Nuno, all the upside in at least having an on camera interview with Nuno, so as to explain why he was not intereted in "reuniting." However, in my opinion, the folks at "Bands Reunited" seemed more interested in getting Nuno or I to sign a "release" form so that they could slice and dice the interview as they wished.

As Gary mentioned in the closing segment of the show, it makes no sense to go backwards. Nuno is currently involved in a number of projects, including Population 1.

Personally, I would have enjoyed VH-1 mentioning Nuno's involvement in Population 1; Guitar Wars (w/ John Paul Jones/formerly of Led Zeppelin, Paul Gilbert/formerly of Racer X and Mr. Big, & Steve Hackett/formerly of Genesis) project in Japan; writing projects that include BBMak and working with Wyclef Jean's camp; and having a co-write on the new TANTRIC single, "HEY NOW," currently climbing the charts at rock radio.

Just wanted to have the opportunity to give you the "behind the scenes" overview.

On behalf of Nuno, Kevin, Joe, Steve, and everyone from Population 1, we appreciate everyone's support.

Best.

Charley

Eli ei sitten loppujen lopuksi reunionia nähtykään.

Juu ei nähty. Perkele, pitikö niiden sitten mainostaa sitä, jos homma ei ollut varma?
