Hi, just got back my bass from a luthier. It's a brand new MTD Heir 5 refinished in Sonic Blue, upgraded with Hipshot A-style bridge and Ultralite tuners, custom hand wounded MM and J pickups (by Halvo Liivamägi).
It's a really nice instrument that can be easily compared to MTD USA. It came out that the hard polyester finish kills totally the sound of the instrument. The new thin nitro finish makes this bass shine.

That does look sweet. You seem to have a thing for shiny blue colors. :)
 
The Korean MTD's are cool basses to begin with, and you've made yours even cooler and definetely unique. Well done!

It's a Woodandtronics (W&T) single cut 5. Very close to Fodera both sound wise and feel wise but sounds a bit better and the playability is a bit better than those Foderas (10-20 pieces) I have tried had.

Well, I like the 60s colors. There will be a shell pink jazz bass in my collection soon for example. :) BTW, red is not my color.
