The re-issue versions will include five bonus tracks selected by the band as well as extensive liner notes written by Toby Driver, the mastermind behind Maudlin Of The Well! The original artwork will remain intact at the request of Toby since he feels it still conveys the meaning and spirit behind the music and lyrics. The repressing for each cd will be limited to 1,000 copies world-wide! And the complete tracklisting will be posted here in the next few days, so stay tuned!

Onko kukaan kuullut tuota uutta Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongueta (jos on edes ilmestynyt vielä)? Kolahti jälleen tämä Choirs of the Eye, mutta en ole uutta levyä kuullut.

Kolahti aika hyvin tuo Dowsing.. ilmestyessään. Jäänyt kuitenkin debyyttilevyn varjoon, mikä on vaan niin äärettömän kova luu. Kantsii muuten tsekata uusi biisi, Bloody Panda splitiltä Don't Touch Dead Animals: http://www.myspace.com/kayodot

Maudlin on tosi kova ja niin on Kayo Dotkin niiden neljän kappaleen perusteella mitä olen kuunnellut. Mutta tein äsken huomion, kuin kaksi marjaa:

Kaikki Tzadikin levynkannet ovat samanlaisessa formaatissa, suurin osa tosin värillisiä.

Kayo Dot on kyllä tutustumisenarvoinen kohde kaikille ennakkoluulottomille. Pitäis itekkin syventyä vielä paremmin, tämä kun ei kovin helpolla kuuntelijaa päästä.

Oli vissiin vähän ankea kiertue, kun yli puolet bändistä lähti kotiin kesken kaiken..
 
Hi everyone, we're finally back from tour. Thanks to all who showed us their support and generosity over the past couple months! As you may have heard, four of our band members quit the band and went home a few days before the end of the tour. As a result, we've had to have to cancel our remaining dates. We really apologize about that to all of you who were looking forward to seeing us this week. We have not "broken up;" this isn't the end of Kayo Dot, and we have exciting plans for the future of the band. Please remember that we have lost members before, and that remaining members Toby, Greg, and Mia created Choirs of the Eye without the help of the four who left, and we have no worries about being able to continue the band missing a portion of the Dowsing Anemone lineup.
 
In the near future, we are still planning to perform at Full Force 2 (the second of John Zorn's compositional rock fests in NYC) on December 8th in some form. We'll keep you updated on the details. Thanks again and we'll see you soon!

Huikeita bändejä niin Maudlin of the Well kuin Kayo Dotkin. En ole vielä päätynyt levyjä tilaamaan kun hieman on hakusessa ja raha tilanne on mitä on. Kaiki mitä olen kuullut on kuulostanut niin järisyttävän hyvältä, että kyllä pian on jostain lisää hommattava.

Jumankekka, justiinsa tuolta Myspace-sivuiltaan kuuntelen Aura on an Asylum Wall -biisiä. Sanoisinko, ettei ole lainkaan pöllömpää musiikkia, jopa erinomaiselta vaikuttaa. Jos ei huomenna Helsingistä tule vastaan tuota Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue -lättyä niin täytynee kai tilata. Lujemmin tämä potkii kuin Maudlin.

Tartar Lamb is the duo of Toby Driver and Mia Matsumiya (of Kayo Dot), put together specifically to perform and record Toby's long-form violin and electric guitar duet, "60 Metonymies," and with the potential to move on to other pieces in the future. Tartar Lamb was augmented by the participation of Tim Byrnes (trumpet) and Andrew Greenwald (drums) of The Friendly Bears for the recording, which is now available directly through us!

Saattaa olla liian avantgardea meikän makuun, mutta pitää kuunnella klipit kunhan pääsee kotia.
 
Eikä ole Kayo Dotin taru onneksi loppu, ovat ilmeisesti studiossa nauhottamassa levyä Behold...The Arctopus -rumpali Charlie Zelenyn kanssa. Innolla odottelen, ainakin Don't Touch Dead Animals oli pirulaisen lupaavaa menoa vähän ehkä tylsän Dowsing...:n jälkeen.

Enpä kuitenkaan omista vielä yhtäkään Kayo Dot levyä. Pian siihen tulee muutos.

Joo, eli sieltä tulee uusi levy sitten. Mukavaa, että päättivät jättää rymistelyt tällä kertaa pois. Raskaissa tunnelmissa ei ole mitään vikaa, mutta uusille vesille lähtö on minusta tässä vaiheessa ihan hyvästä. Sitä vain pelkään ettei täältä vain tulisi jotain Tartar Lambia nyt sitten. Saa nähä.

Ues. Tyylin keventäminen kuulostaa mielenkiintoiselta. Kiinnostaa myös kovasti kuulla rumpali Zelenyltä iisimpää soittoa. Maaliskuuta odotellessa.
