Q: Lord Beavereater: Can I get a signed pair of Knut's ultracool pants? Need something for the Grandkids!
 
A: Knut: lol, my pants are not traditional in metal, but fun to wear on stage. They are raw material, resistant, and used for farm work here.
 
Q: Erlend: Does, to your knowledge, any recordings of the Aspera Hiems Symfonia releaseparty or any of the other shows done in the wake of its release, i.e with Kris on vox, exist? If so, how does one obtain a copy of it.
 
A: Sverd: it does exist. 3 tracks. But it's for our private use, and you can't get a copy!
 
Q: Erlend: Have you ever considered making a music video?
 
A: Sverd: see now Demonpainter on the DVD. We did consider to do one for MTV, but that didn't happen.
 
Q: Erlend: This one is for Steinar. Is the Ensoniq SD-1 still your main keyboard? Are you a gear-head who needs to collect as much sounds and hardware as possible or do you like to stick to a few select synths?
 
A: Sverd: the Ensoniq is not anymore my main synth, it's now the Korg Triton. And I like to mix my own sounds.
 
Q: Erlend: In what key do you guys tune your guitars?
 
A: Tore: I tune 1/2 tone lower than Knut and the rest of the band. Knut tune at 440 Hz and I also drop the E-string 1 whole tone, at 430Hz. Then either one have the possibility to play open-string not at the same time.

Q: mannfred von carstein: what are their plans for the next two-three years album..tour..both?
 
A: Steinar, Tore, Hugh: Both! we might record during the next winter. A new european tour is also beeing planned for February. We have a new booking agent.
 
Q: Innipunn: Question to Simen:Have you ever taken any vocal-classes? Or are you completely self-taught?
 
A: Simen: I'm completely self-taught

A: band: all booking and tour planning is now done by our new booking agent. He is working on booking for Scandinavia and forwards other countries requests to booking contacts.
A: Tore (about Australia question): We would love to, but it would cost a fortune to get the band there.
A: Tore (about Finland qustion): That's a pity we didn't come to Finland on the last tour. Had contacts but it didn't happen. We'll try to be sure to come in Finland on our next February tour.
 
Q: Alexm/: ( To Sverd) How did you decide to chance your music style from Mortem to Arcturus?
 
A: Sverd: It was like a natural development when I switched from guitar to keyboards.

Q: Kinetic: Vil det bli satt opp en ny Norgesturné? Kjipt med den forrige mini-turnéen som ble avlyst. Hadde bestilt billetter til konserten og flybilletter, så nå er jeg ekstra gira på å få se dere. A: Actually, the new booking agent is working on booking for Norway and other Scandinavian countries. He also forwards other countries requests to booking contacts.
 
Q: Kinetic: How is the new album gonna be? Are you going to continue the epic space journey undertaken in Sideshow Symphonies, or will there be yet another suprise?
 
A: Sverd: It's too early to say, but it will indeed be a suprise (he says with a grin)
 
Q: ProphetX: How long has Sverd played keyboard to get the level of skill he has now..and the myspace
 
A: Sverd: I began to play keyboards when I began Arcturus in 1990. I was still playing guitars in Mortem. BTW 10 *unreleased* tracks of Mortem does exist (he says with another grin), you cannot find them!
 
A: About the Myspace question: ok if it doesn't infringe copyright and Season of Mist rules, a member of the band must be in contact with you and have control on the data posted there.
 
Q: Lord Beavereater: Do you write together as a band, or seperately and then put it all together in the studio?
 
A: Sverd: I mostly write on my own, then I take it to the band at rehearsal, and the others arrange them.
 
Q: Lord Beavereater: Would you consider making Arcturus the main band in your respective musical careers, and take it to the next level?
 
A: Sverd + Hugh: Arcturus is my main and only band!
 
A: Tore: 3 of the members, including me, are also busy with other bands. To live on music makes it impossible to only be in Arcturus. Also Carnivora is my child.

Q: Lord Beavereater: On a technical note, do you prefer "old school" production and equipment (i.e No rack units etc) or the modern approach, particulary as Arcturus seems to be a futuristic (for lack of a better word)project?
 
A: Sverd: I like to compose on old, and record on new equipment.
A: Tore: I like old-schoold analog recording equipment combined with modern computer.
A: Knut: both worlds have good sides.
A: Simen: mix it! Both!

Eli bändillä oli sopimus tulla soittamaan tännekin viime kiertueella, mutta se ei sitten onnistunutkaan. Olisi kyllä loistava aika tulla helmikuussa - mahtava synttärilahja ;)

Kyllä kyllä kyllä!!! Perhana, tuonne on mentävä. Riippuen tietenkin, ettei maan toiselle laidalle tarvitsisi lähteä.

Arcturus livenä olis kyllä jotain aivan uskomatonta. Toivottavasti tulevat johonkin paikkaan mihin pääsevät alle 18-vuotiaatkin.

Joo eiköhän ne Ouluun ainakin rantaudu. Jos vetävät yhden keikan vaan niin tod. näk Tampere/Oulu. Ja Oulu tuntuu olevan se Suomen hevikeskittymä muutenkin niin sinne taitavat suunnata. :) Helsinki olisi kova juttu ja jossain ei k-18 paikassa. ;)

Arcturus = rasittavaa ulinaa.
 
No ei. Keikka on kuitenkin jossain Helsingissä, ja sinnehän ei taatusti tule lähdettyä täältä Lapin lumien keskeltä.
 
Kaikki pohjolan ihmiset voisivat vaikkapa foorumeilla toitotella, että mikäli Suomen keikka onnistuu niin vetäisivät samalla kaksi keikkaa esim Helsingissä ja toisen Oulussa niin ei kiihkeimmät fanit ihan missaa tätä. :)

Mie vähän pelkään ettei Arcturus toimi livenä. Sitäpaitsi ei Arcturus ole mitään ilman Kristofferia. Simen on hyvä mutta La Masquerade todisti että Garm + Simen = loistava :)

Katsohan uudehko live DVD ja sano sen jälkeen uudelleen, ettei toimi livenä.

Enpä ole tuota nähnyt vielä, mutta ei DVD ole sama kuin itse live-happening. Hyvä hommahan se vaan jos ovat saaneet toimimaan livenä musiikkinsa. Loistava bändi vaikka se uusin lätty ei niin kovaa iskenytkään kuin aikaisemmat.

Minäkin, kun ensimmäisen kerran kuuntelin Arcturusta, tuomitsin sen olevan epäonnistunut livebändinä. Niitä kaikkia elementtejä on melko vaikea toteuttaa siedettävällä tasolla livenä, mutta jos ongelmat on ratkaistu niin ei tässä kaivata kuin keikkaa. :)

Enpä ole tuota nähnyt vielä, mutta ei DVD ole sama kuin itse live-happening. Hyvä hommahan se vaan jos ovat saaneet toimimaan livenä musiikkinsa. Loistava bändi vaikka se uusin lätty ei niin kovaa iskenytkään kuin aikaisemmat.

Kaikki vähänkin mielenkiintoiset hevikeikat menee tätä nykyä Helsinki/Tampere/Turku ja ehkä hyvällä tuurilla Jyväskylä -akselille. Nivalakin on todennäköisempi paikka mielenkiintoisille bändeille kuin Oulu.
 
Kyllä, olen katkera. Jos Arcturus tänne saataisiin, niin kyllähän sinne menisi mielellään. Jyväskylää etelämmäs onkin jo aika paha tikki opiskelijalle, oli töitä tahikka ei.

Pari vuotta takaperin ei ollut kaukana, että oltaisiin lähdetty parin kaverin kanssa Norjaan katsomaan Arcturusta kun he sen ensimmäisen livekeikkansa vetivät sitten alkuaikojen. Siispä olisin valmis kyllä vaikka Helsinkiinkin Oulusta matkustamaan Arcturusta vilkuilemaan vielä, mutta Sapporosta tulee jo pikkuisen liian kalliiksi lähteä prkl.

Ajattelin pistää tämän tännekin, huhut kun kuitenkin pyörivät. Eli Just Say Rock Productions (kiertueen tuottaja) on levittänyt ilmoitusta Australian kiertueen aikana, että Arcturus pistää pillit pussiin kiertueen jälkeen. Viralliset sivut eivät ilmoita mitään, mutta forumilla spekuloidaan, että Simen & Hellhammer lähtevät bändistä. Vokalistin paikka nyt on aina ollut tuulinen Arcturuksessa, mutta Hellhammerin lähtö olisi aika tikki. Mutta eiköhän halukkaita korvaajia löydy hyvin pian.
 
Mutta tämä kaikki siis spekulointia. Mitään virallista ei ole ilmoitettu vielä.
