Pumpulissa ja vaahtomuovissa on ongelmana, että ne saattaa kerätä ajanmittaan kosteutta kitaran sisään. George Bensonilla on nykyisin läpinäkyvällä toimistoteipillä teipattu f-aukot umpeen, mikä taas saattaa tietenkin vahingoittaa kannen lakkapintaa.

On Reducing Feedback
Jazz players want great tone from their hollow-body archtop guitars
without feedback at higher volumes. I have experienced a few ways to
help with feedback reduction.
First, a closed-back speaker cabinet will be a major aid in feedback
reduction. Another trick that works well is placing an inflated black
helium party balloon in each F hole. Tie off the knot and tuck it under
the wooden top for cosmetic reasons. Don't blow it up too tight! --
just enough cover most of the F hole. When you want to remove the
balloons, grab the knot and puncture it with a sharp object and pull
them out.
On Positioning
Another tip is to position yourself at a distance from the speaker and
to aim the head stock toward the speaker. Also, reduce the treble and
bass on the amp -- feedback lives in the extremes of these positions.
