Aihe: Traagiset/Surulliset tarinat kappaleissa

|
Kuuntelin tässä Bad Companya ja eräs biisi inspiroi minua tekemään tämän topicin. Missä kappaleessa on mielestäsi surullisin tarina? Jos jaksat niin linkitä tai pastea kappaleen sanat tähän topickiin. Itse vastaan: Bad Company - Shooting Star Johnny was a schoolboy When he heard his first Beatles song Love Me Do, I think it was And from then it didn't take him long Got himself a guitar Used to play every night Now he's in a rock 'n' roll outfit And everything's alright Don't you know? Johnny told his Mama, "Hey, Mama, I'm goin' away Gonna hit the big time, Gonna be a big star someday" Mama came to the door With a teardrop in her eye Johnny said, "Don't cry, Mama Smile and wave goodbye" Don't you know? (Kertsi) Don't you know that you are a shooting star Don't you know Don't you know Don't you know that you are a shooting star And all the world will love you just as long As long as you are Johnny made a record Went straight up to number one Suddenly everyone loved To hear him sing the song Watchin' the world go by Surprisin' it goes so fast Johnny looked around him and said, "Well, I made the big-time at last" Don't you know? Don't you know? (Kertsi) Don't you know that you are a shooting star Don't you know Don't you know Don't you know that you are a shooting star And all the world will love you just as long As long as you are Johnny died one night, died in his bed Bottle of whiskey, sleeping tablets by his head Johnny's life passed him by like a warm summer day If you listen to the wind you can still hear him play (Kertsi) Don't you know that You are a shooting star Don't you know? Don't you know that you are a shooting star Don't you, don't you, don't you don't, you don't you know Don't you know that you are a shooting star "Who are you? How did you get in?" "Well, i'm the locksmith and.. I'm the locksmith." Pastilli? | kivi 04.07.2005 03:09:38

Hm. Ehkä se on sitten 50-lukulainen hitti "Tell Laura I Love Her", koska imelämpää nyyhkysiirappia en osaa kuvitella. Laskelmointi kunniaan. Myös "Livin' Next Door To Alice" ja se Dr. Hookin biisi jossa lauletaan "At the age of thirty-seven, she realized she'd never drive a sports car in Paris with a warm wind on her hair..." on aika nyyhkyjä. Ylipäätään tuolta 50-60 -lukujen iskelmäpuolelta löytyy aika surkeita tarinoita. :-D | elbowski 04.07.2005 03:32:59 (muokattu 04.07.2005 03:33:19)

Pantera - Hollow What’s left inside him? Don’t he remember us? Can’t he believe me? We seemed like bothers Talked for hours last month About what we wanna be I sit now with his hand in mine But I know he can’t feel... No one knows What’s done is done It’s as if he were dead I’m close with his mother And she cries endlessly Lord how we miss him At least what’s remembered It’s so important to make best friends in life But it’s hard when my friend sits with blank expressions No one knows What’s done is done It’s as if he were dead He as hollow as I alone now He as hollow as I alone A shell of my friend Just flesh and bone There’s no soul He sees no love I shake my fists at skies above Mad at god He as hollow as I converse I wish he’d waken from this curse Hear my words before it’s through I want to come in after you My best friend He as hollow as I alone Bind my idle hands, they only claw at me
Drown in emptiness, my soul is left to bleed

Monestihan se on sellainen kappale jonka sanat ovat aikalailla suoraan omasta elämästä. Joku Panteran Good Friends & Bottle of Pills voi olla jollekin aika traagista. Tai sitten toista ääripäätä edustaa esim. Skid Rown In a Darkened Room Bad whiskey is better than wine.
Kamelotin Don't you cry, jonka kitaristi Thomas Youngblood on säveltänyt ja sanoittanut kuolleelle isälleen. "Don't you cry Or suffer over me I will be waiting for you Don't you cry Angels never fade away I'll be watching over you See you through" "I've re-invented my image so many times that I'm in denial that I was originally an overweight Korean woman." -David Bowie

The Pogues - And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda When I was a young man I carried my pack And I lived the free life of a rover From the Murrays green basin to the dusty outback I waltzed my Matilda all over Then in nineteen fifteen my country said Son It's time to stop rambling 'cause there's work to be done So they gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun And they sent me away to the war And the band played Waltzing Matilda As we sailed away from the quay And amidst all the tears and the shouts and the cheers We sailed off to Gallipoli How well I remember that terrible day How the blood stained the sand and the water And how in that hell that they called Suvla Bay We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter Johnny Turk he was ready, he primed himself well He chased us with bullets, he rained us with shells And in five minutes flat he'd blown us all to hell Nearly blew us right back to Australia But the band played Waltzing Matilda As we stopped to bury our slain We buried ours and the Turks buried theirs Then we started all over again Now those that were left, well we tried to survive In a mad world of blood, death and fire And for ten weary weeks I kept myself alive But around me the corpses piled higher Then a big Turkish shell knocked me arse over tit And when I woke up in my hospital bed And saw what it had done, I wished I was dead Never knew there were worse things than dying For no more I'll go waltzing Matilda All around the green bush far and near For to hump tent and pegs, a man needs two legs No more waltzing Matilda for me So they collected the cripples, the wounded, the maimed And they shipped us back home to Australia The armless, the legless, the blind, the insane Those proud wounded heroes of Suvla And as our ship pulled into Circular Quay I looked at the place where my legs used to be And thank Christ there was nobody waiting for me To grieve and to mourn and to pity And the band played Waltzing Matilda As they carried us down the gangway But nobody cheered, they just stood and stared Then turned all their faces away And now every April I sit on my porch And I watch the parade pass before me And I watch my old comrades, how proudly they march Reliving old dreams of past glory And the old men march slowly, all bent, stiff and sore The forgotten heroes from a forgotten war And the young people ask, "What are they marching for?" And I ask myself the same question And the band plays Waltzing Matilda And the old men answer to the call But year after year their numbers get fewer Some day no one will march there at all Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda Who'll come a waltzing Matilda with me? Here we are nowhere, nowhere left to go/Here we are nowhere, maybe that's where we belong - Jake Burns IHKK #3, IMIK #28, Bella Italia #8

Pantera - Hollow Tämä. :`) Metallican onen voisi vielä lisätä: I cant remember anything cant tell if this is true or dream deep down inside I feel to scream this terrible silence stops me now that the war is through with me I'm waking up, I cannot see that there's not much left of me nothing is real but pain now hold my breath as I wish for death oh please God, wake me back in the womb it's much too real in pumps life that i must feel but can't look forward to reveal look to the time when I'll live fed through the tube that sticks in me just like a wartime novelty tied to machines that make me be cut this life off from me hold my breath as I wish for death oh please God, wake me now the world is gone I'm just one oh God, help me hold my breath as I wish for death darkness imprisoning me all that I see absolute horror I cannot live I cannot die trapped in myself body my holding cell landmine has taken my sight taken my speech taken my hearing taken my arms taken my legs taken my soul left me with life in hell

Judas Priest - Beyond the Realms of Death He had enough He couldn’t take anymore He’d found a place In his mind and slammed the door No matter how they tried They couldn’t understand They washed and dressed him Fed him by hand Yeah! I’ve left the world behind I’m safe here in my mind Free to speak with my own kind This is my life, this is my life I’ll decide not you Withdrawn he’d sit there Stare blank into space No sign of life Would flicker on his face Until one day he smiled It seemed as though with pride The wind kissed him Goodbye - and then he died Yeah! I’ve left the world behind I’m safe here in my mind Free to speak with my own kind This is my life, this is my life I’ll decide not you Keep the world with all it’s sin It’s not fit for livin’ in Yeah! I will start again It can take forever, and ever, and ever And ever, but I’ll still win. How many like him, Are there still But to us, all Seem to have lost the will They lie in thousands Plagued and lost Is nothing worth this bitter cost Yeah! I’ve left the world behind I’m safe here in my mind Free to speak with my own kind This is my life, this is my life I’ll decide not youkeep the world with all it’s sin It’s not fit for livin’ in Beyond the realms of death. "Life is only about fucking and staying online." - Jim Goldworth
Anatheman Judgement-levyltä löytyy surullisia kappaleita. Tosin ei ehkä tarinoita. Useat levyn kappaleethan on kirjoitettu heidän edesmenneelle äidille. WASPin What I'll Never Find myös surullinen viimeinen viesti: BIlly to Jesse Time to go away Down a road I cannot hide Will I have no name For destiny's I cannot find Will I wander alone Forever's lonely road of time Am I looking for what I'll never find Did you call my name I will be leaving from this dream Can you feel the pain Slowly leaving me Will you hold my hand And ease me to the other side Am I looking for what I'll never find Can you hear me Can you hear me in the night Will you feel me If you leave me will I cry? Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds: Song of Joy. Have mercy on me, sir Allow me to impose on you I have no place to stay And my bones are cold right through I will tell you a story Of a man and his family And I swear that it is true Ten years ago I met a girl named Joy She was a sweet and happy thing Her eyes were bright blue jewels And we were married in the spring I had no idea what happiness and little love could bring Or what life had in store But all things move toward their end All things move toward their their end On that you can be sure La la la la la la la la la la La la la la la la la la la la Then one morning I awoke to find her weeping And for many days to follow She grew so sad and lonely Became Joy in name only Within her breast there launched an unnamed sorrow And a dark and grim force set sail Farewell happy fields Where joy forever dwells * Hail horrors hail * Was it an act of contrition or some awful premonition As if she saw into the heart of her final blood-soaked night Those lunatic eyes, that hungry kitchen knife Ah, I see sir, that I have your attention! Well, could it be? How often I've asked that question Well, then in quick succession We had babies, one, two, three We called them Hilda, Hattie and Holly They were their mother's children Their eyes were bright blue jewels And they were quiet as a mouse There was no laughter in the house No, not from Hilda, Hattie or Holly "No wonder", people said, "poor mother Joy's so melancholy" Well, one night there came a visitor to our little home I was visiting a sick friend I was a doctor then Joy and the girls were on their own La la la la la la la la la la La la la la la la la la la la Joy had been bound with electrical tape In her mouth a gag She'd been stabbed repeatedly And stuffed into a sleeping bag In their very cots my girls were robbed of their lives Method of murder much the same as my wife's Method of murder much the same as my wife's It was midnight when I arrived home Said to the police on the telephone Someone's taken four innocent lives They never caught the man He's still on the loose It seems he has done many many more Quotes John Milton on the walls in the victim's blood The police are investigating at tremendous cost In my house he wrote "his red right hand" That, I'm told is from Paradise Lost The wind round here gets wicked cold But my story is nearly told I fear the morning will bring quite a frost And so I've left my home I drift from land to land I am upon your step and you are a family man Outside the vultures wheel The wolves howl, the serpents hiss And to extend this small favour, friend Would be the sum of earthly bliss Do you reckon me a friend? The sun to me is dark And silent as the moon Do you, sir, have a room? Are you beckoning me in? La la la la la la la la la la La la la la la la la la la la Mutta ihan yhtä hyvin olis voinut laittaa myös Where the wild roses grow- tai The kindness of strangers -biisin sanat. Johnny Cashin biisi (en nyt muista onko kipale Johnnyn oma, mutta ainakin hän on sen levyttänyt) toisessa maailmansodassa taistelleesta intiaanista nimeltä Ira Hayes on niinikään aikas lailla traaginen. Älä lähesty minua, lakeija, haitari olalla. Bella Italia #1

Nuo rokki-vuodatukset... :) Mutta joltain rap-osastolta löytyy aika kovia tarinoita... enkä puhu nyt mistään Dr.Dre:stä räppäämässä "Back in the hood" :) Kärsii jotenkin sen uskottavuus kun kartanon seinällä joku 40 platinalättyä :) Mutta esim. joku Soulja Slim oli kova... kaverihan ammuttiinkin tässä pari vuotta takaperin. "Only 25 at the time, the New Orleans rapper was shot to death in front of his home on November 26, 2003." Hieman eri meininkiä kuin joku "eukko jätti, koira lähti, auto vietiin..."-vuodatusta. I thank the Lord I got my mind right My lifestyle was drastic Tryin' to avoid the casket Don't want my son to be a bastard But y'all wouldn't know But I seen that a couple of times The Lord talked to me Told me put the foolishness behind It's not worth dying Tryin' to represent where ya come from Or makin' beef, because you feel like your that big G I went the same way, but today, I'm on a higher level I'm on a paper chase and runnin' behind it like a rebel I want it all So me and my mama can ball The only one that pushed me up, in my downfall And my pop, been in penitentiaries 10 wasted years My mama wasted tears But she brought me up, by herself, without no help Used to catch whippings with a leather belt But that ain't stop nothin' I was a Soulja always into stuff Elementary school I'm cuttin' Gettin' caught wrote on the B roll Mama, come sign me out I don't like these phony people Down here to come sign me out Come bomb me out central lockup I shoulda put the glock up And the two quarters I rocked up "I have tried so fuckin' many tubeamps and they all sound like some fuckin' AC/DC... except Krank" - Darrell Lance Abbott

Metallican Onen lyriikat ovat kieltämättä loistavat. Vielä enemmän kuitenkin pidän seuraavasta: --------------------------------------------------- Harry Chapin (?) - Cats in the cradle My child arrived just the other day Came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch and bills to pay He learned to walk while I was away He was talkin' 'fore I knew it And as he grew he said, 'I'm gonna be like you, dad, You know I'm gonna be like you. And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon. 'when you comin' home? ' 'son, I don't know when. we'll get together then. You know we'll have a good time then. Well, my son turned ten just the other day. He said, 'thanks for the ball, dad. come on, let's play. Could you teach me to throw? I said, 'not today. I got a lot to do. He said, 'that's okay.' and he walked away and he smiled and he said, 'you know, I'm gonna be like him, yeah. You know I'm gonna be like him. And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon. 'when you comin' home? ' 'son, I don't know when. we'll get together then. You know we'll have a good time then. Well, he came from college just the other day, So much like a man I just had to say, 'I'm proud of you. could you sit for a while? He shook his head and he said with a smile, 'what I'd really like, dad, is to borrow the car keys. See you later. can I have them please ? And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon. 'when you comin' home? ' 'son, I don't know when. we'll get together then. You know we'll have a good time then. I've long since retired, my son's moved away. I called him up just the other day. 'I'd like to see you, if you don't mind. He said, 'I'd love to, dad, if I could find the time. You see my new job's a hassle and the kids have the flu, But it's sure nice talkin' to you, dad. It's been sure nice talkin' to you. And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me, He'd grown up just like me. My boy was just like me. And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, Little boy blue and the man on the moon. 'when you comin' home? ' 'son, I don't know when. we'll get together then. You know we'll have a good time then.
