50 Caliber, representing the English beatdown force in the most brutal style within hardcore, takes the power of one of the most beastly beatdown album in the history of metal, Sepulturas’ ‘Chaos AD’ and blend it with the aggression and trash-Slayer sensation of New York brutal hardcore band, All Out War. This 5-song MCD still has a road to go in order to match up to those two great bands but it’s definitely an excellent debut release for these young London fellows.
Peculiarity causes me the fact that in the third song, Left Mystified, 50 Caliber oversteps the brutal mark sounding with few melodies. Never reaching an emo-melodic state though, but so unusual as the guttural shout used in the last song, Ending My Misery, which by the way sounds great alongside Terry's sharp screaming voice, it gives a good quantity of versatility.
So get ready to put your hoods on and lace up your dancin' shoes kids because 50 Caliber's screaming machine-gun-double-bass thrashmetal beatdown hardcore music apparently was handmade for the mosh-pit."
