| Friction Groove Collective is looking for a percussionist or drummer. Wind instrument players are also welcome to apply. We’re an 11+ piece musical orchestra (with some members rotating in and out based on availability). We explore groove based music from around the world—our repertoire is currently split evenly between afrobeat, ethio-jazz, and latin cumbia… with jazzy influenced improvisations, and occasional psychedelic sonic touches. We rehearse every Tuesday evening at Kaapelitehdas and host a jam session once a month, and play about 4 gigs yearly besides these. You should be a respectful team player who is able to read enough music to follow along with charts (though you don’t have to be the world’s best sight reader). We welcome diversity, and international mindset. Our members range between late 20’s to late 40’s, and cover 8 nationalities. https://www.friction-helsinki.com/ | |
