Rummut: rumpukamat ›

Ajattelin kajauttaa itseni New Yorkiin ensi viikolla. Yksi päivä olisi käytettävissä ainakin näyteikkunaostoksiin. Nykki on muuten tuttu paikka, mutta rumpaliaiheinen tietouteni Manhattanista ja New Jerseystä on kovin rajattu.
 
Te, arvon kollegat, tiedätte paikkoja, joissa rumpalintekeleen kannattaisi vierailla (esim. musakauppoja) Manhattanilla. Kertokaa kysyvälle, sillä tunnetusti kysyvä ei tieltä ja niin edelleen..

Täytyy pitkästä aikaa pitää silmänsä auki, jos vaikka jotain muuta sattuisi silmiin...

Voi harmi, kun just tein sähköpostiini kuukausi sit listan kaikista pienemmistäkin putiikeista, mutta se on näköjään kadont. Mannys music on sam ashin vieressä.

There are three great stops for you within a very short walk of your hotel and in the heart of Times Square.
 
Stop number one should be Drummer's World -- 151 W.46th Street right off Broadway. It is right across the street from the Muse Hotel. It is on the third floor, so just look for the flag flying outside the store. Sign in at the front desk and go on up. A terrific shop and friendly staff.
 
Next -- move up two blocks and go to Sam Ash on 48th street. Yeah -- its a big box, but they have a huge drum only store on 48th street. The staff is not as friendly as Drummer's World, and it is usually a little more crowded --but it is a good place to see the latest and greatest. Next-- directly across from the Sam Ash drum store on 48th St. is Manny's (which also happens to be owned by Sam Ash). Manny's is a lot of fun simply to stroll through and look at the pictures on the wall. The drum department is upstairs on the second floor, and it is well stocked. The staff is very cool, and I have been in there a couple of times and bumped into some well known drum artists.
 
The Drummer's World, Sam Ash, Manny's trifecta is right in the middle of Times Square, and can easily suck up 2 hours of your time or more. There are of course, many other places to get your drum fix in Manhattan -- but if you are looking for something to kill an afternoon close to your hotel this is a good bet. Enjoy!
