Singer GARY BARDEN Rejoins MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP - Dec. 5, 2007

Legendary guitarist Michael Schenker is currently setting up a concert tour under the banner MICHAEL SCHENKER & FRIENDS. The trek will include stops in almost all of UK's rock clubs starting on January 10 and stretching as far as March.
 
In other news, Schenker is planning to release a new MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP (MSG) album in April, to be followed by a world tour. Entitled "In the Midst of Beauty", the CD will feature the following lineup:
 
Gary Barden - Vocals
Simon Philips (TOTO, THE WHO) - Drums
Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) - Bass
Don Airey (DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW) - Keyboards
 
A tour featuring Barden on vocals will kick off following the album release.
 
According to a posting on the Michael Schenker News and Tour Information web site, SeeTicket.com has announced the following UK dates for Michael Schenker:
 
Jan. 10 - Swindon, UK - 12 Bar Swindon
Feb. 17 - Bristol, UK - Thekla
Feb. 09 - Manchester, UK - Manchester University
 
Michael Schenker's UK tour this past summer was cut short due to a "multitude of events beyond the band's control, including Michael's," according to a posting on Schenker's MySpace page.
 
Schenker's final gig in the UK took place on August 3 in Stourbridge, U.K. when Michael ended up calling off the concert after only a handful of songs.

Vaihteeksi hyvältä kuulostavia uutisia madxemanin suunnalta. Tuo viimeisin UK kiertue oli todella huolestuttavaa seurata. Toivottavasti nyt asiat alkaisivat menemään paremmin päin.

Öö mitäs tuo Hughes oikein tuolla tekee? Ikävää jos meinaa pysytellä vain basistin tontilla... Vai hoitaako taustalaulunkin bassoilun ohella? Ja eikös Purplella ole keikkoja ensi vuonna jos kerran Airey on MSG:ssa? Vai soittaako molempien keikoilla?

Kun olisi vielä Chris Glen basistina, niin olisi aika kova juttu.

Glenn Hughes - No MSG: Glenn Hughes posted his message on his myspace which denies Michael Schenker's statement the recording line-up of MSG's next album will feature Glenn Hughes as bass player. Thanks, John!! (cf. 12/06/07 update No.3 et al)

There's a news story currently doing the rounds about me joining Michael Schenker on his new MSG album.
 
I declined to work with Michael.....I do not play that kind of music.....I wanna concentrate on my own style of music.....

Vahvan taustan on Michael itselleen kasannut. Epäilyttää suuresti Hughesin pysyminen vain basistina. Melkoista äijärokkia on näköjään tulossa.

^^ Heh siis panovihrepahalainen pääsi käymään noiden nimien suhteen:)...

Basisti siis vaihtuu...

Neil Murray on Bass: Michael Schenker's official website has been updated with a revised name of the bassist who is going to play on MSG's next album titled "In the Midst of Beauty", which is Neil Murray (ex-Whitesnake, Black Sabath, etc.). (cf. 12/06/07 update No.5)
 
Also, according to melodicrock.com, "This statement however still lends itself to a little confusion. Drummer Simon Phillips continues his long held role as Toto drummer and as Toto has a full schedule for 2008, you are unlikely to see Simon playing live with MSG, although I have confirmed he will record his drum parts for the studio album early in January." Thanks, Terje!!

Komppaan tätä. Fiilis on saman tyylinen. Eikä Barden ole edelleenkään meikän suosikkeja. Sanotaan se suoraan: Schenker ja Phil Mogg toimivat mielestäni "taiteellisesti" yhteen ihan eri malliin, vaikka henkilötasolla ei UFO:n lennättämisestä yhdessä tule mitään. :(
 
MIchael oli kyllä kovassa kunnossa livenä MSG:n alussa. Kitarajumala miun makkuun...

Minä olen aina pitänyt Gary Bardenista, mutta en edellytäkään mitään hevikiekumista. Minusta se on ääni joka kuuluu MSG:hen.
