Tällanen alko pyöriä päässä tässä päivänä muutamana luistellessani kohti autotallia. Tämän olis tarkotus olla sellanen johnnycashmainen simppeli kantriralli, joka pikemminkin puhutaan kuin lauletaan. Ja arviota kehiin, pyydän ma.
 
Slippin` Time
 
It`s pretty darn cold outside my house
and there`s snow all around.
I`m pretty short of booze and all out of food,
so I guess I`ll hit the town.
Put on my cowboy hat and them rattlesnake boots
`cause I got the style and class.
I start my journey to the garage out back
and fall right on my god damn ass.

are you making fun of poor old me?
Why wasn`t I born in Houston, Texas
or in Memphis, Tennessee?
I`m a rhinestone cowboy `til the day I die,
but it`s no cakewalk in this country of mine.
Because for a half a year it`s always been
and will be a slippin` time.
 
Slip-slip-slip, slippin` time.
It always gives me the blues.
Don`t need no skates or snowboard,
`cause I wear shit kickin` boots.
I spin around the town like a merry-go-round
in that pick up truck I drive.
If you see me, hey - get the hell out of my way
`cause I`m having a slippin` time.
 
Theres snow and there`s ice and I do realise
that there might be an easier way to survive.
There`s different shoes that I know I could use
and get a car with a four wheel drive.
But a man`s gotta do what a man`s gotta do
if he wants to stand proud and tall.
So I will not start hiding, I keep on slippin` and slidin`-
never mind the occasional fall.

Nää sun tekstit on niin tyylitajulla tehtyjä, että ne herättävät välittömästi myös vahvoja musiikillisia mielikuvia. Heti alkoi päässä soita Jack Scottin "Jingle Bell Sliden" bassolaulajan osuus "hip hip, slidin' along..." :-)
