frets, particularly along the edge where much of the dirt collects. Lemon
oil should be applied OCCASIONALLY if the wood seems dry. "

"MYTH: Oil finishes should be maintained with lemon oil
FACT: Lemon oil, an oily mineral-spirits solvent with a lemon scent
added, is a very short-lived maintenance product. It is a furniture
polish that will help pick up dust, add temporary shine to a dull
surface, and reduce scratching until it evaporates--which it will do
within a few days. The fresh scent it imparts is a large part of its
appeal. Flexner recommends maintaining oil finishes with a new coat of the
original finish or with paste wax.

Lähdetäänpä nyt siitä, että...
 
Öljy`yksen tarkoitus on enstää puuta kuivumasta ja estää likaa ja rasvaa (rasva ja öljy ei sama) imeytymästä puuhun sisään (kyllä, se imee sitä!). Käsittääkseni sitruunaöljy on tarkoitettu viimeistellylle pinnalle, lakalle, jota otelaudassa ei yleensä ole (vaahtera otelaudassa on). Rypsiöljy on mielestäni paras ratkaisu, koska sitä todellakin löytyy joka kodista tai kaupasta ja se maksaa hyvin vähän. Jos haluat ostaa otelautaöljyä, ole hyvä! Et saa luultavasti tuhlattua eläessäsi koko pullollista otelautaan. Ja rypsiöljy ajaa saman asian kuin "virallinen" veljensä. UGH! Olen puhunut!
