Ompi kaverilla iso annos pelimiesrohkeutta, mennä nyt hirmuisen kalliin historic-LP:n maalit vetämään pois - vaikka kuinka näkee että alla on loimua. Entäs jos ois vaikka kittiä löytynyt jostain, heheh..
Tässäpä suora lainaus tuolta toiselta foorumilta.
I just knew there was a bitchin' top under that gold.
Today, I got the huevos to get out the paint stripper. It was too cold to be shooting the final coats of paint on another guitar I'm working on, but it's supposed to get warm tomorrow. That left today with a few extra hours. A can of paint stripper, extra time, and too much temptation.
I took the guitar apart, and started to get second thoughts. Before I could change my mind, I grabbed some lacquer thinner and totally botched the top by dousing it.
Here's a stripped before shot:

http://members.aol.com/dimasicabs/grefin2.jpg I KNEW there was flame under there..
http://members.aol.com/dimasicabs/grefin3.jpg The further I got, the more I realized that there are no major flaws in this top. The only reason I think this got designated to be a goldtop is because the fingerboard is very streaky, and '58 Historics are too expensive for streaky fingerboards:

(alla kuva jossa keppi ennen toimenpiteitä - kyllähän tuosta näkee että maalin alla jotain loimun tapaista on)
