Laitoin tossa taannoin mailia Eurotubesiin (
http://www.eurotubes.com/) kysellen 5150 putkista ja sieltä tuli seuraavanlainen vastaus:
"The 5150 II's have a small bias adjustment that is very narrow and on the
cool side even when adjusted to the maximum level, so any 6L6 type tube
including the JJ Electronic 6L6GC ( which is what I would recommend ) are
just plug and play. Because of the cold setting I would go with a hotter set
of the JJ 6L6GC's and if your playing a high gain style and you want the
best of the best for the front end then I would use four of the ECC83S's
that are graded for high gain in V1, V2, V3 and V4 which ads a bit of bite
and a sharper dynamic but does not hurt the clean tone. I would use a
standard ECC83S in V5 and a balanced ECC83S in V6 for the phase inverter
which is the closest preamp tube to the power tubes, This will eliminate any
dead spots and really make the amp sing. The JJ's have a very deep tight low
end, a natural harmonically rich mid and a smooth sweet high end that's not
brittle or harsh.
Like I said the bias adjustment is very narrow and you can either plug and
play or you can actually adjust the bias to suit your ear.
A full retube would run 116.50 and I can ship them for 12.00 by Global
Priority mail with a 7 to 10 day delivery."
Että sellasta. Ei varmaan tohon sun kysymykseen hirveesti vastannut, mutta jos ei muuta niin tiedoksi.
