| Kuvaus: | ILMU ("air", "weather") is a folk-trip-hop band from Karelia, now band based in Tampere. ILMU plays music with lyrics in Livvi-Karelian language. Magically beautiful northern nature of Karelia became an inspiration for the songs. The band presents the new generation of culture of a small nation with an endangered language - Karelians. Music of ILMU describes different natural phenomenon and feelings caused by the contemplation of nature. Musicians use traditional instruments such as kantele, jouhikko, bass jouhikko, woodwinds and other (electric guitar, violin, etc.). Band mixes sounding of these instruments with electronic base and with vocals in Livvi-karelian language. |
