| Kuvaus: | Steelfinger is a one man band from Helsinki, Finland and a stage name of Tero Aarnio, part-time fullstack blues musician. Steelfinger has been refining his style at a slow pace. He discovered Robert Johnson's music in the early 80's. First wave heavy rock giants had led him the way. The Mountain being one of his special favourites. Where Steelfinger meets the old blues players is the way he has learned to play on his own. Steelfinger does not try to imitate the old heroes. He does not try to rewrite their songs. He's moving on. Even if most of his songs are not standard 12-bar round trips, they are very much blues songs. Steelfinger has turned a weakness to a strength, limitations to a safe haven of creativity. The lack of accompanying members has forced him to develop his own unique and independent style. You have to see him live to see how his music actually works and how it's built. His music is defined and cultivated by the medium, one voice, one guitar and one drum. In every band there's a bass player. In Steelfinger's one man band it's the right hand thumb who never gets the credit but who actually makes the rock roll. |
